OTM & the Red Cross
For several years Onetomarket has been supporting the Dutch Red Cross. The Red Cross helps people in need all around the world. In 186 countries the Red Cross gives active assistance to the most vulnerable in society. Onetomarket is concerned with the welfare of society and that is the reason why we are happy to help charity.
In 2010 Onetomarket launched a new initiative called ‘Run for Charity’. During this relay run all members of Onetomarket showed themselves from their sporty side. Through this action not only the internal teamwork is encouraged, but it also had a focus on social engagement.
Because of the Run for Charity we made a special website www.runforcharity.nl. This website contains information about the purpose of the action, the runners and the route. To bring the Run for Charity under attention of our customers, family and friends Onetomarket used all its (social) channels in order to encourage everyone to give a monetary donation for charity.
Every year the finish of the relay run is somewhere else, namely at the ‘Glass House of 3FM’. Each year radio 3FM organizes, as a partner of the Red Cross, an event called, ´3FM Serious Request´. These large-scale actions are to attract attention to the many projects for which the Dutch Red Cross participates in. Onetomarket supports the action of 3FM warmly through the proceeds of the Run for Charity.
The first Run for Charity was held on December 23, 2010. Early in the morning the first runner started running from the head office of Onetomarket in Arnhem, the start of a 114km long relay run. The whole day the Run for Charity could be followed through pictures and live video via a specially designed campaign website. The various social media channels were used intensively during the day. Through Twitter and Facebook, the performance of all participants could be followed. Because of the success of the first run, the Run for Charity will from on take place every year.
